John Westwood found guilty on an indictment for a burglary in the dwelling house of Elizabeth Shipman in the parish of Writtle on 7th October 1748: stealing therefrom a pair of linen sheets (valued at 10/-), a camlot riding hood (valued at 20/-), a pair of stays (valued at 30/-), a tablecloth (valued at 3/-), a handkerchief (valued at 2/-), 3 knives (valued at 18d), a pair of silver studs (valued at 12d) and 20/- in money numbered.
